Jesus & Chocolate Milk

In order to start this blog off, I figure I'll share with ya'll one of my favorite stories of Tyler. This happened when she was about 3 years old. I was pregnant with our second child, Austin, at the time.

We had not yet gone to the house church format at this time, therefore our church still met at a local high school and Tyler went to Sunday School class each Sunday morning. She was learning about how we should obey God and about Jesus living in our hearts. At first this concept was hard for her to grasp because of my pregnancy. She kept thinking she would go to the hospital and Jesus would come out. She finally grasped the concept though and how her baby brother in my tummy was different from Jesus living in our hearts.

One day, she came in just before dinner wanting some chocolate milk. Here is our conversation:

Tyler: Mommy, can I have some chocolate milk?

Me: No, it is almost dinner time.

Tyler leaves the room, only to return a few minutes later.

Tyler: Mommy, Jesus lives in me, right?

Me: Yes, he does, honey.

Tyler: Well (drawn out), we are supposed to obey God because it makes Him happy and Jesus wants some chocolate milk. He wants you to give him some for my tummy.
