Photos of my blessings

A friend of ours is going to be starting a photography business in the new year.  Right now he is building up a portfolio.  He is the reason why you now see a current picture of me on my proflie for Blogger instead of a 14 year old picture from my wedding day.

Here are some of the pictures he took of the kids that are my favorite.  I have more on facebook if you are my friend there :)

Photo (Video) Friday

No new pictures taken recently. Shaun did take some pretty funny video of Jesse with his camera phone, but I don't know how to make it into video to be viewed on my blog. I'll have to figure that one out.

So today, I'm going to share a Barlow Girl video. I shared the lyrics to their song I Need You To Love Me recently on one of my other blogs. Today I'm sharing the video to another one of their songs I really like and that speaks to me. This is Never Alone by Barlow Girl. (BTW - This entire CD - Another Journal Entry - is great and worth the money!)

Photo Friday - My Hubby's Harley

This is an old photo, but you can basically see what it looks like. He's made a few changes, but not too many.

Photo Friday - Potty Time!

So today I decided I was going to embarrass myself. Not sure why, but I'm in a good mood so I figure I'll share some pictures that I get a chuckle out of.

First, my mother sent this to me recently.

I can't believe she took this of me, but then I remembered this picture of Austin. Of course in his, he still had his diaper on. He was so excited because he got on the toilet by himself, even if he did forget to take off his diaper.

We've really not made much more progress yet with Austin's potty training. He has gone a few times, but overall does not seem to interested. He likes to sit on it, but still does not really have it figured out. I want to get him potty trained for convenience and the cost of having two in diapers, but at the same time I don't want to push him and make it a horrible experience for both of us. So I continue to encourage him and see where we end up!

Belated Photo Friday

Here are the pictures I promised from last week when our scanner and printer were not hooked up due to new carpet and painting. It is hard to believe my little baby is six years old now. She was so excited to have her kindergarten graduation on her birthday that she did not care that her party was pushed out a week.

I really do have a good excuse for being late this time! Last night was our "Royal Princess Only Birthday Slumber Party". I picked up all the girls by 3PM for the festivities to begin. Five girls ages 4 - 6 (includes the Birthday Princess). The activities for the night included:

* Swimming (twice - it's official Shaun is more fun in the pool than me!)

* Dinner - hot dogs!

* Cake - See picture below

* Presents

* Painting Princess picture frames

* Making beaded watches

* Watching Gigi - God's Little Princess

* Playing Disney Princess Monopoly (makes me want to get out our Monopoly game and challenge the hubby again, it's been a long time!)

Unfortunately the night (or I should say early morning) ended with us having to send everyone home because both Jesse and Tyler started throwing up. Since they did not eat the same thing, I'm thinking it was just a stomach flu thing. They are both fine now. Just really bad timing. But I think everyone had lots of fun though.

I'm also including one of my favorite photos from the night. The girls playing Disney Princess Monopoly with Shaun being the banker.

Photo Friday - 33 Years

This week for photo Friday I am sharing a photo of my parents. As of the day of this post (Thursday, May 31, 2007) they have been married 33 years. This is a photo of a frame they received for their 25th anniversary. They had not had a big wedding the first time around so they renewed their vows and went on the honeymoon they never had before.

They are going out for dinner tonight and if she is able mom was going to get a picture taken of them. Until then enjoy these two of them on their wedding day and then 25 years later. (BTW - Mom is wearing my wedding dress at their 25th anniversary!)

Photo Friday - 1993

Okay, I know I've been slacking on the posting lately and I apologize to all of you. It's been crazy here and May is year end at work so it is only going to get crazier in the next couple weeks. On top of working 2 weeks straight at work (yes that means through the weekend!) the next couple weeks also include Tyler's 6th birthday and her graduation from kindergarten (both on June 7th).

Please keep me in your prayers these next couple weeks. Seriously! It all starts next week and will go through June 8th!

So to make up for it, I'm going WAY back in time for Photo Friday. This is our Senior Prom picture from 1993. I even uploaded it "large" so you can get the full effect!
This is Shaun pre-goatee (like the goatee MUCH better!) and me pre-marriage/baby weight gain. Gotta love the perms!

Photo Friday - Father/Daughter Photo

Okay, so we are being silly (and annoying my mother who was trying to get a nice Father/Daughter picture of us!)

Here's one more like what she was looking for!

Photo Friday

Greetings from Washington State! If you were wondering why I'm posting later than normal for this, it is because last night I left the house with the two boys and drove 12 hours to my parents house in WA state.

Today's photo is one I took of their backyard with my phone. This is not the house I grew up in, however it is very close. In fact, I grew up in a house next door to the home my dad grew up in. The house my parents are currently in is one they had built just after I moved out. It is on the other side of the house dad grew up in.

As you can see the house backs up to a wooded hill. There are always deer coming down the hill and I remember them coming into our yard all the time growing up as well.

Dad has been working on doing this yard for the past few summers and I think he has done an awesome job! It looks great.

Photo Friday

Okay, so I see all of these blogs with themes for certain days. I love sharing pictures with others (usually of my kids, what can I say, I'm a proud mommy!) and want to start taking pictures more often.

So I'm going to start a Photo Friday post on here. They won't all be of my kids, but I must say many will be. They might not even be photos I personally take. You'll just have to check in to see each week!

Here is this week's photo. Just keep this bookmarked and anytime you are having a bad day, take a look. This should cheer you up. I know his sweet face always cheers me up, even when it was him that made my day bad (the cutest ones are always the biggest stinkers, aren't they!)
